AlexanderStone® Care and Maintenance

AlexanderStone® is one of the toughest surfaces available. It resists scratching, chipping and scorching better than any other natural stone product.

AlexanderStone is recommended for interior use only. AlexanderStone has not been tested for durability to outside elements. Our warranty does not cover product installed outdoors.

It’s important to avoid excessive pressure, especially on the corners or joints because that may cause damage. Although AlexanderStone is scratch resistant, it is not scratch proof. A cutting board is recommended when using a knife.

Do not use harsh chemicals such as paint removers or strippers, and cleaning compounds like oven and grill cleaners. Avoid abrasive cleansers or scouring pads on AlexanderStone.

AlexanderStone is heat resistant and can handle brief exposure to temperatures up to 310 degrees F. However, prolonged exposure to heat from a hot pan can cause scorching or discoloration. Use trivets for hot items to avoid any thermal shock.

AlexanderStone is easy maintenance. To clean the surface, simply use a cloth or sponge along with any non-abrasive cleaner like dish soap, Simple Green® or Windex®. No waxing or polishing is necessary. Use a liquid bleach with gel cleanser for difficult stains. Hardened material can be easily removed with a plastic putty knife. Rinse the surface with clean water afterward.
